So, Monday we were at the Comtes. We had a chill p-day, played
games, and had a party. I was sick, so things took a little longer than we
would have liked, but, so is the life of a sick missionary. We also finished
Conference -- so we got 3 days of it- - and it was fabulous! My favorite talk
was probably -- actually, I really can't decide. All the talks I thought were
amazing go as follows (not necessarily in this order) Uchtdorf, Maynes,
Marriott, Lawrence, Hales, Holland, Oakes, Monson, Rasband, Stevenson, Renlund,
Nelson, Christofferson, Durrant, Haynie,Clark, and Bednar. So, basically all of
conference :)
Tuesday we had the fellowship feast (dinner together), at the
Rolfe's, and the Sloughs came, and we had a fun little party getting to know
each other. We had fajitas, homemade, and they were fabulous:)
Wednesday, we had a split, took the wrong train coming back
(good job, Sister Montgomery), and were late to our appointment with the
Pullans. Because it was going the wrong direction, and we had to wait for the
next train. Thankfully, they didn't mind, and everything else went well. It was
fun :)
Thursday, Zumba was canceled, so we went over to the Comtes,
because she'd signed us onto base, and ended up cleaning their house -- in half
an hour. I was quite impressed. Then we went to a "german class"
appointment. It was my first time teaching solo -- Sister Funk didn't know what
all we were doing, but she helped where we could. We basically reviewed
everything we'd already taught her -- and later, Sister Fink said I'm a really
good teacher. That made me feel good. She also said that we do a lot of service
and it's evident how much we love the people by how much we serve. That was an
eye opener. I had never thought how much service we do.
Friday, we were at the Ashles for dinner. It was hectic, -- her
friend was in the hospital having a baby, so she was watching the older
daughter, and we helped clean the house, and we helped make some Asian dish. It
was yummy. We revised Sister Ashles family mission plan with her, and she took
stuff from "the family, a proclamation to the world," and it was
really cool how she found ideas from that. Sister Ashle's amazing :)
Saturday, we helped the Comtes clean some of their stuff out,
and Bobby cooked dinner. It was absolutely fabulous. He cooked a roast,
scalloped sweet potatoes in a cream sauce, home made Mac and Cheese, stuffing,
and a couple other dishes. I wish I had a picture, but sadly, I didn't get one
this time around.
Sunday, we had dinner with the Ayalins. She's German, and he's a
convert, they met on a blind date of some sort or another. It was s super cute
story :) I love our ward
Love
ya, family! I hope everything is going well. I'm excited to hear from you about
all your fun stories.
Have a good week!
-Sister Montgomery
