Me!!
Yep. You read that right. I'm being
transferred. To Essen. Those of you that know German, yes, that is the verb
"to eat" and the noun "food." it, apparently, is also a
city- a big one- on the northern border of the mission, up by Dortmund. So, I'm
moving zones. This is going to be an adventure.
Greetings, beloved family and friends, this
will probably be a short letter, because we don't have a ton of time seeing as
we're going to the temple. That's why my letters late. We had to switch our
p-day so that we could do that because the temple is not open on Mondays. Also,
I left my planner at home, which always makes it so my letters are not as
detailed.
I'm not sure what else to tell you right now. Transfer
calls were basically the highlight of my week because it was the culmination of
6 weeks of torture not knowing if I'd be staying or what was going to happen.
Also, Sister Ferris is training, so we have to go to Frankfurt about 24 hours
early, so she can meet her new companion. So, I've been packed since about Sunday night,
because Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday were all cram-packed with stuff
(i.e. tschüß appointments, travel, and temple) , so I figured I should just get
it done and not add to the stress of having to work packing in with the
craziness. It was great fun.
Sister Ferris and I had a party Friday night
and Saturday during dinner and packing, in which we were just silly gooses and
videoed each other being silly. I will be sure to show you the resulting videos
and pictures when I get home- because I can't send them. It makes me mad . . .
I will tell you, that the ward announced that
Elder Brandner and I were both leaving in Sacrament meeting on Sunday, and
then the entire ward swarmed us after the meeting to wish us luck, say good
bye, and tell us about their friends that live up in the area. I have never
felt so much love in my life, especially from people that I've only known for
about 18 weeks. It was so cool. I also forgot to get pictures with people, so
we may have to come back and visit so I can have you meet all of the wonderful
people that I have come to love so much.
That's all I can remember right now. I'll be
sure to write a better letter next week, with lots of details from the last 2.
I love you all, and hope you're doing well!
-Sister Montgomery
PS it snowed here on Monday. It was
pretty random. But the sun is shinning about as bright as he can right now, so
I'M not sure how long it will last.
Love ya!
